Judging ServiceNow’s CreatorCon Challenge: 2017 Winners

Updated: Oct 27, 2023

ServiceNow launched the CreatorCon Challenge to find and fund apps built to solve thorny problems for their global user base. Lighter Capital CEO BJ Lackland — along with Om Malik, founder of GigaOM and partner at True Ventures, and David Webb, CIO of Equifax and former COO of Silicon Valley Bank — judged the contest, picking the winner and two runners up from more than 225 entries from around the world.

Australia’s Factor5 took home the grand prize, $250,000 in seed funding, for their university curriculum management app CourseLoop. Allan Leinwand, CTO of ServiceNow, called it “a fantastic app that wowed the judges.” CourseLoop offers flexible workflow management and a single source of truth for curriculum management, reducing higher education’s traditional over-reliance on paper forms, spreadsheets, and email. Its collaborative and fully integrated environment increases curriculum design quality, helps educators deliver new programs more quickly, and eases the administrative burden on both students and staff.

Clear Skye’s Identity Lifecycle Management (ILM) app scooped second place and $150,000 in funding. ILM helps organizations achieve compliance. Managing any type of account in any industry or environment, ILM maintains the lifecycle of accounts and security groups with documented approvals, owner accountability, and dashboard views that provide real-time insights.

Help-Full won third place in the CreatorCon Challenge, along with $100,000 in funding. Help-Full provides an application for affordable, easy eldercare. The app, designed for people caring for their aging parents, connects older adults with neighbors of various backgrounds and interest to help them find fun, friendship, and fulfillment.
